On a sunny day, 17 dedicated volunteers from our Rotaract club came together to clean up trash in Nørrebro, Copenhagen’s most populated and vibrant neighborhood. Through this community service event, we not only made the area cleaner but also built meaningful connections among our members and fellow internationals.

🌍 Making an Impact in Nørrebro 🌿

On a beautiful sunny day, we came together as a group of 17 enthusiastic volunteers to make a difference in one of Copenhagen's most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods—Nørrebro! Known as the city's most populated area, it’s a place full of life, culture, and activity. Copenhagen is thankfully a very clean city, there is still litter to pick-up especially after a windy storm and on the weekends.

Armed with gloves, trash bags, and a shared determination to help our community, we set out to clean up the streets, parks, and alleys. The occasional gusts of wind didn’t dampen our spirits; instead, they reminded us of the value of working together toward a cleaner and greener environment.

More than just a cleanup, the day was an incredible opportunity to bond with fellow Rotaractors, meet new internationals in Copenhagen, and share laughs while making a visible impact. It was inspiring to see how much we could accomplish as a team in just a few hours.

By the end of the event, we didn’t just collect bags of trash—we also walked away with a renewed sense of purpose, stronger connections, and a deeper appreciation for the power of community action.

We’re so proud to contribute to making Copenhagen a cleaner place and are excited to continue organizing events like this. Whether you’re passionate about the environment, eager to meet like-minded people, or simply curious about what Rotaract is all about, we’d love to have you join us for our next adventure! And if you join our next trash clean-up, you could be eligible for a Trashie Award!
